It is a very sad day for our ACDR family….we have lost one of our own. In the early morning hours, DEXTER, one of our Compassionate Care dogs, at age 13, crossed the rainbow bridge. His forever foster Mom was there by his side. He knew he was loved very much.
Dexter first came into our care in 2020. He had multiple chronic health issues, but he was doing so well. He was living his absolute best life until yesterday, when he took a turn for the worse. Our hearts go out to Louise, Corey & Ezra.
RIP sweet Dexter 🐾💔🌈
We are sharing here Louise’s beautiful heartfelt memorial….
Our sweet Dexter went to heaven this morning. We got a call early in the morning and rushed to be with him. We got to give him lots of love and cuddles and tell him what a good boy he is! We held him while he crossed the rainbow bridge ♥️ Dexter was 13 years old and the sweetest guy, so kind and gentle, loving and playful. He came to us almost 2 years ago, shy, quiet and dull. But with a lot of love and time, he turned into the most playful, happy boy.
Dexter loved to dress up in all kinds of sweaters and clothes, he would get so excited to get dressed. He loved going for walks and soaking up all the attention in the stores. He hated the car but knew it meant attention so he put up with it. Recently we rescued another pup and Dexter became a big brother. Seeing that side of Dexter was so nice, he loved playing and letting the pup know who’s boss.
We will miss you Dexter, so so much. Our hearts are broken and our home feels a little more empty now.
Rest sweetly my good boy. Chase all the birds and squirrels and cats, eat all the treats and play to your hearts content with Hank.
We love you Dexter… ♥️
